Day 2 : Lima

Get ready for a gastronomic walking tour in the colorful district of Barranco.

On the program visit of this emblematic district of Lima and tasting of the best traditional drinks and courses of the Peruvian gastronomy.

Learn how to prepare the popular ceviche, causa, lomo saltado and the famous pisco sour cocktail. Day 3 : Lima

Transfer from your hotel to the Lima airport. Flight to Cusco. Morning departure by private vehicle for an excursion to explore the Sacred Valley.

The first stop will be the ruins of Pisac where we will visit the site and walk around the handicraft market.

Return to your hotel in the Sacred Valley. Night at the Tierra Viva hotel Valle Sagrado BTC: Tourist Integral Ticket

Day 4 : Sacred Valley

Departure at 8.30am in a private vehicle on a day-trip exploring the Sacred Valley.

The first stop will be at the cultural site of Moray, an ancient Inca agricultural laboratory.

We take to the road again, this time in the direction of the salt flats of Maras, located in the middle of the Cordillera.

We will then walk down to the Urumbamba River where our vehicle awaits to take us to the Inca village of Ollantaytambo.

Visit of the fortress that was a strategic, military and agricultural center.

Day 5 : Sacred Valley

Transfer in private vehicule to Ollantaytambo’s train station. Train to Aguas Calientes, starting point for visiting Machu Picchu.

Note: The train company allows passengers to carry a cabin bag of up to 8 kg per person. It will be necessary to leave your checked luggage at the deposit of the hotel in the Sacred Valley and Cusco. Possibility of transferring luggage from one hotel to another).

Morning train. Direct connection to the shuttle service that will drive you to the citadel of Machu Picchu.

Departures, for the ascent and as well as the descent, run every 5 minutes.

Machu Picchu is an ancient Inca city of the fifteenth century in Peru. Abandoned during the collapse of the Inca empire, the sacred city of the Incas, was forgotten for centuries. It is considered as a masterpiece of the architecture of this civilization. It was unveiled by the American archaeologist Hiram Bingham in 1911.

In1983, Machu Picchu was declared UNESCO World Heritage List. On July 7, 2007, Machu Picchu was voted one of the New Seven Wonders of the World by the NewOpenWorld Foundation, an unofficial and commercial organization. Finally the site is part of a whole cultural and natural complex known as the Historic Sanctuary of Machu Picchu .

Note 1: 1st access to the site 6h, last access: 14h.

Entrance to Machu Picchu is regulated by a 3-hour slot on the site. We will communicate the entry schedule to the site that we recommend according to your program. After this confirmation, the schedule for entering the site cannot be changed.

Day 6 : Piuray Lake

In the morning, departure from your hotel by private vehicle to the typical community of Umasbamba. Welcome by the community and participation to a workshop with Jose Luis and his wife Trinidad. You can choose between a weaving workshop, a walk to the watchtower or participate in agricultural activities.

Lunch at Jose Luis and Trinidad´s house.

At the beginning of the afternoon, you will start a 2h30 walk on an Inca path along the Piuray lagoon on the way to the village of Chinchero. Along the way, you will enjoy splendid views of the Veronica, Chicon, and Pitusiray Glaciers.

Day 7 : Cusco

Departure for an half-day dedicated to the discovery of Cuzco’s historical downtown.

In the morning, visits of the Koricancha (Temple of the Sun), and of the Cathedral, exhibiting some paintings from the School of Cuzco and many goldsmith’s art, silver and precious stones treasures.

Then we walk down to the San Blas quarter (the artists’ place).

Note: The Qoricancha is closed on Sunday mornings. Night at the hotel El Retablo.

Day 9 : Bogota

Departure by bike to Paloquemao , a real messy Colombian market where you will be surprised by all the flavors and colorful tropical fruits you will find over there !

Then, you will discover a new phenomenon of Bogotá: the graffiti . Since a few years, the walls of the city have been transformed into canvases giving to artists a limitless playground. During this tour, you will pass by the most beautiful and sometime huge works, with always a very strong message. Some artists are vene paid by the city for their work, such as Toxicomano, DJ LU or Lesivo, just to mention a few.

Transfer to Bogota airport for your domestic flight. Domestic flight to Santa Marta . Arrival at Santa Marta airport.

Day 10 : Tayrona surroundings

Whole day to take advantage of Tayrona Park , between jungle and beaches of the Caribbean Sea .

You will alternate between hiking in the lush tropical forest, having a small horseride and swimming in the beautiful waters of “ La Piscina ”.

Lunch break nearby Cabo San Juan cape and relaxing time on the Arrecifes pristine beaches…

Note 1 : your passport will be asked to enter the National Park

Note 2 : around 3 hours of hike (easy to moderate hike) and 1 hour and a half of horse-riding. Keep in mind that the weather is really hot.

Note 3 : equipment: walking shoes, light clothing, swimming cloth, sun protection, insect repellent and backpack to carry your food and water

Note 4 : swimming can be hazardous at some beaches due to strong currents and undertows. We strongly discouraged it.

Note 5 : it is mandatory to have an official tour guide within the Tayrona Park. If you asked for a bilingual guide, you will be with a local guide and a translator guide.

Day 11 : Tayrona surroundings

Departure for the Sierra Nevada .

You will go back up the Don Diego river with a little boat to reach the Tayronaka reserve. Tayronaka is a lost city of the Tayrona Indigenous people. Mythical city, it is precisely here that the movie Mission, starring Robert de Niro has been shot. With your tour guide, you will retrace the history of this ancient civilization.

When the tour of the reserve is over, you´ll go down Don Diego river in a swimming ring! You will be able to watch howler monkeys and beautiful birds. The arrival of the ocean is spectacular!

A boat will get you back to the reserve to have lunch in the heart of the Sierra Nevada.

Day 13 : Cartagena de Indias

Transfer between your hotel and the port of Cartagena . Full day in the heart of the beautiful Rosario archipelago , also known as Coral Islands of Rosario .

Perfect day to relax on the beaches, to swim in the heart of the Caribbean, to explore the mangrove and to taste local dishes based on fish and coconut rice…

Note 1: when you arrive at Cartagena port, you must pay a harbor tax (18 500 COP at this day).
